Sidney A. Eagle, father to Brian A. Eagle, passed away on October 25, 2016. Sidney was a graduate of Baruch College (B.BA., 1956), and New York University School of Law (J.D., 1961, and L.L.M., Taxation 1970). He was admitted to practice in New York State, the United States District Court Southern District of New York, United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court. Sidney practiced in the New York metropolitan area for over 40 years. He was a member of the New York Bar Association, Trusts and Estates Section. He was also a member of the Wealth Counsel Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, and a Fellow of the Esperti Peterson Institute for Family Wealth Planning.
Sidney was co-founder of both Legacy Administration Services, LLC, a company specializing in private family tax matters and Connect2A.com, LLC, an application services for accountants, attorneys and financial professionals.
Sidney was an experienced attorney in the areas of Federal and State Taxation, Estate Planning and Administration, Employee Benefits, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Real Estate and Corporate Law.
Sidney was the co-author of several books including Legacy: Plan, Protect, and Preserve Your Estate, Practical Answers from America’s Foremost Estate Planning Attorneys, Esperti Peterson Institute Incorporated; Generations: Planning Your Legacy, Esperti Peterson Incorporated; and Strictly Business: Planning Strategies for Privately Owned Businesses, Esperti Peterson Incorporated.
Sidney was wed to his wife Carole for 58 years before his passing. Sidney and Carole had two sons and four grandchildren. His son, Brian A. Eagle, incorporated his father’s law practice into his firm, Eagle & Fein, P.C., and retains the practice started by Sidney in Indianapolis, IN. His granddaughter, Stephanie Kate Eagle, is a 2016 graduate of Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business, B.B.A.
Sidney was a member of the Baruch College Planned Giving Advisory Committee, the 17 Lex Society, the Baruch Benchmark Society and established the Herman and Mollie Eagle Scholarship at the College. The Mollie Eagle Scholarship Fund awards an annual scholarship to a select student.
