Alzheimer’s Association Leadership Breakfast

INDIANAPOLIS – Brian Eagle and Eagle & Fein’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s team captain, Melissa Claycomb, attended the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter’s Leadership Breakfast hosted at the Lilly Corporate Center.

Eli Lilly and Company is one of the global leaders in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Lilly has been at the forefront of Alzheimer’s research for nearly 30 years.  Mayor Joe Hogsett spoke of his personal connection to Alzheimer’s and expressed his concerns for the city of Indianapolis as the rate of Alzheimer’s continues to rise. Mayor Hogsett discussed the need for awareness and support for local Hoosiers who face the financial and emotionally taxing responsibility of balancing work and care-giving.

Natalie Sutton, the Chapter Executive for Greater Indiana, detailed how Alzheimer’s affects Americans beyond the diagnosis. There are 5.8 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and more than 16 million Americans that provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. It is estimated that this year Alzheimer’s and other dementias will cost the United States $290 billion and by 2025 those costs could rise as high as $1.4 trillion.

In 2018 the Greater Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association helped nearly 6,000 Hoosier families at no cost to the recipients.

Eagle & Fein is excited to participate in the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s and launch the Inaugural Law Firm Challenge. To learn more about joining or donating to team Eagle & Fein for the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, please contact Melissa Claycomb at MClaycomb@eagleandfein.com.
