23 Apr Legal Alert #4 – Families First Coronavirust Response Act
Our efforts to keep our business clients up to date on the legal challenges and opportunities presented by the spread of COVID-19 (the “Coronavirus”) continue with this fourth alert. In this alert we share with you guidance from the Department of Labor regarding employee rights under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).
The Employee Rights FFCRA Notice Poster used to is a guide to the requirements in the FFCRA. The poster should be posted in a conspicuous place on your premises. The poster does not need to be translated into another language. The poster advises employees of their paid leave entitlements and the requirements to be eligible for coronavirus-related leave. The Department of Labor has also issued a Q&A regarding the FFCRA. Here is a link to that guide: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/pandemic/ffcra-questions.
Second, as you may know, the Senate has unanimously passed a $2 trillion stimulus package, which will be voted on by the House of Representatives today. We all have heard much about the individual stimulus checks included in the bill, but there is also roughly $350 billion in assistance for small businesses. Upon passage, we will begin reviewing the bill and offer you insights when the work week begins next Monday.
We have been through difficult times before; in time, this too will pass.
All of us at Eagle & Fein, P.C. continue to be available to provide you guidance and support. We are well connected electronically and are available for VVFMs – Virtual Virus Free Meetings. Please reach out with any follow up questions by e-mail or phone.
