25 Feb Tas Recipient of the Indiana ODP Spirit Award
INDIANAPOLIS – On February 22nd during the Indiana Soccer Foundation’s Awards Gala, Tristan Tas was recognized as the Indiana Olympic Development Program (“ODP”) boy’s recipient of the Indiana ODP Spirit Award. Tas plays for the boys’ U12 ODP State Pool Team under the direction of the head coach, Brian Eagle.
“[He] demonstrates the true values of what it takes to be an outstanding contributor to the OPD State Pool at each training session: 110% effort, 100% of the time, a great teammate, enjoys the moments, being thankful, and playing with a smile. He is committed to these values,” stated Coach Eagle.
The Indiana ODP Spirit Award is presented in the memory of three Indiana Soccer ODP players whose lives were cut short. Carley Dickard, Allison Lardin, and Chris Akunda were accomplished players who loved the game of soccer. Carley, Allision, and Chris taught the soccer community about strength, courage, and spirit and each left an impression not only on the soccer community but on all who crossed paths with them. The Indiana ODP Spirit Award is given to junior players who embody these qualities.
Coach Eagle continues, “He is a leader that demonstrates these qualities not only with his words but also his actions and efforts. As his soccer journey continues, Tas’ future is bright. Indiana Soccer is excited to watch him as he works to achieve the next level in his soccer development while applying the life lessons that he learns through soccer.”
Coach Eagle, the principal attorney of Eagle& Fein, P.C., has been involved with soccer as a player, student manager, volunteer and coach since 1979. In 1996, Coach Eagle was awarded the Indiana University Soccer Outstanding Service Award and Indiana Youth Soccer Association President’s Award for his outstanding contributions to youth soccer throughout Indiana. Coach Eagle was one of the co-founders of the Indiana Soccer Foundation then further went on to serve on the Board of Directors.
